The Faculty: Markian Filevych – School Director and instructor of the Entry to the Byzantine Art. Professional experience: Graduated from the College of Decorated and Applied Arts; worked in the Iconographical workshop in the Seminary of Holy Spirit (Ottawa, Canada); completed the degree research “The Iconography of Byzantine Church altar in Byzantine in context of liturgical and church design”. Presently teaches Archeology and sacral architecture of Eastern Christianity to UCU students. In addition, Markian is a student of Doctoral program, in terms of which he is writing the research on “the development of Diesis” (the University of Graz, Austria).
S.Victoria Luka – instructor of Sacral Art in Liturgical Prospective and the Entry to Byzantine Art . Professional experience: Sister graduated from Theological Academy in Lviv . Afterwards, she continued her study in the St . Pauls \' University in Ottawa , where completed the research on “The Antinomy in Icon paintings in the Eastern Christianity”. In addition, s.Victoria attended the art classes at the Seminary of the Holy Spirit (Ottawa). In Ottawa. The other place of her study was the university in Macedonia (Athen city) where she also studied art. At present she works as an instructor in icon-painting workshop at UCU. This work she excellently combines with her study in the Orientation Institute in Rome , where she writes the Diploma research “The Mosaic Art in Kyiv during the XI – XII centuries”.
Solomia Tymo - the instructor of the Celebration Iconography. Professional experience: Graduated from the Saint-Petersburg Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (The Department of Art Theory and History). Solomia did the internship in Greece , Poland and the USA . At present works in the Art Gallery (Lviv). In the past worked as professor of theology at UCU. The wide range of professional interests includes Halitian iconography of the XV – XVI centuries; early Christian and Byzantine art.
Svidryk Maria – coordinator of the School and the instructor of the Theology of Icon. Professional experience: Graduated from the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. Afterwards, continued her study at the St. Paul\'s University (Ottawa, Canada). Maria completed the research on “the Ascetic Aspects of Iconography”. In addition, she had the internship at the Iconographical School in Seriate city (Southern Italy). Maria had a chance to be a student of the Prof. Thomas Nemet and to work in icon-painting workshop under his supervision. At present she teaches Icon Theology and Sacral Architecture of the Christian East to UCU students.
