Purpose: To analyze, interpret and foster the liturgical tradition ofChurches of the Byzantine Tradition

Fields of activity:

  • Training of cantors and choir directors
  • Publication of church music for use in churches of the Byzantine-Slav tradition
  • Organizing seminars and workshops on liturgy and liturgical music
  • Description of manuscripts and early printed liturgical books
  • Creation of a catalogue of incipits of ecclesiastical chants in acomputer database
  • Assembling an anthology of ecclesiastical hymnography and recordings
  • Studying the repertoire of Ukrainian sacred monody in the form of acomputer database (under the supervision of Prof. Yu. Yasinovs'kyi);
    description and preparation for publishing of a catalogue of manuscripts and early printed Service and Prayer books (trebnyks) (under thesupervision of P. Galadza and T. Shman'ko)
