Ukrainian Greek Catholic Theological Center Blessed 09.01.2005, [17:06] Lviv — On 28 August 2005, Patriarch Lubomyr Husar, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), together with numerous bishops and clergymen and also representatives of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) blessed the altar of the Holy Spirit Chapel of Holy Spirit Seminary (HSS) and celebrated the first hierarchal Liturgy in the new church. First Eucharistic Sobor Starts in Lviv 06.27.2005, [10:42] Lviv — The 1st All-Ukrainian Eucharistic Sobor (assembly) started in western Ukrainian Lviv on 24 June 2005. Since 2005 was announced by the late Pope John Paul II as the Year of the Holy Eucharist, the sobor gathered representatives from all over Ukraine to share their eucharistic experiences, participate in a scholarly conference at the Ukrainian Catholic University, and join in prayer. UCU Welcomes Chicago’s Cardinal George! 05.12.2005, [11:24] Cardinal Francis George of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, USA, is visiting the Ukrainian Catholic University on May 12. He will concelebrate Divine Liturgy in the Byzantine rite in the university’s chapel in the morning and then speak to the students.
In the afternoon he will tour the university’s soon-to-be-opened Theological Center and address the young men of Holy Spirit Seminary.
Cardinal George arrived in Lviv on May 10 and will travel to Kyiv on May 16, returning to Chicago on May 18. Read more...
