As of February 2008, the activities of the Lviv Business School at the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) have begun. A press conference at UCU on 6 February announced the opening of UCU’s new school.
UCU’s rector, Fr. Borys Gudziak, Ph.D., was joined by Sofia Opatska, the director of the school, and businessmen who are partners in the project at the conference.
“We want the participants of our program to be ambitious people, in the good sense of this word. So that they set great goals and try to achieve them,” said Opatska. “But, in addition, we are saying that in Ukraine business can be conducted in an honorable manner, with thoughts about workers, not forgetting about the environment, thinking what will be here in 10, 15, 20 years. That is, it’s not enough simply to quickly and effectively make money. Today the question ‘how to make money’ is also important.”
