Department of Theology

In its activities the Chair of Theology uses the principles of theological education and science laid down in the documents of the Second Vatican Council, "The Concept of Theological Education in Ukraine" and other documents. The department is guided by the principle of openness to both Eastern and Western theology. There is special attention on returning to the patristic legacy and making the Eastern tradition of Theology accessible to the Church in Ukraine.

Teachers from Ukraine and abroad teach in this department.

There are 31 doctors of science, 11 candidates of science, 17 licentiates among them.

Fr. Dr. Sviatoslav Shevchuk is the head of the department.
