Evening Theology School (ETS) provides specialized theological education for
those who want to learn more about theology but are busy at work during the
day. Through these courses a wider circle of society can become acquainted with
the foundations of theology and with church doctrine related to a range of important
problems in order to better spread the Good News.
ETS is directed by the Catechetical-Pedagogical Institute. The educational
programs reflect the specifics of Eastern Theology that has as its sources Holy
Scripture, Liturgy and the writings of the Holy Fathers. This principle is reflected
in the list of courses and in the methods of teaching.
Students follow a two-year cycle of fundamental courses in Theology and Philosophy,
and then a cycle of courses of one or three more years in a major subject.
A diploma opens the following possibilities for a graduate:
Specialisation in "Theology of Family and Social Doctrine of Church":
integration within the activities of a network of advise centres for families
and married couples;
to work as a consultant to the questions of social doctrine of Church (at
the Metropolias, eparchies etc.)
Specialisation in "Christian Ethics":
to work as a teacher of Christian Ethics at school ( in case one has received
a complete higher pedagogical education at state higher educational establishments);
Specialisation in "Catechism":
to work as a catechist (to parishes, Sunday schools, etc.)
